"That's right ladies and gentlemen, the census has entered the 21st century." With that David Daube, Pittsburgh Census Office manager, started the open house ceremony to officially kick off the process of ensuring that western Pennsylvania gets its share of the federal fiscal pie.
Although Census Day is April 1, 2010, it is no joke. Unlike locusts, the census comes around every 10 years. It is mandated by the U.S. Constitution (Article I, section 2) that the government conduct a head count of everyone living in the United States: all 50 states, Puerto Rico and islands such as Guam, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands.See the full content of this document
