Bethel Uses Its History to Look to the Future

Summary

The week-long celebration began on June 8 at the kick-off service with guest preacher Bishop Robert Vaughn Webster, bishop of the Third Episcopal District of the national AME church. He spoke words of praise for Bethel's place in history and of encouragement for what the future will bring. The Bethel Church choir and New Direction Dance Ministry entertained with selection of "Worthy is the Lamb," while the dance team performed to the song.

Tuesday night's theme was "Holy Ghost Night" and it was truly that. It began with selections from the RC Specials, a local choir. The selections left the sanctuary filled with the Holy Ghost, while guest preacher Rev. Frank M. Reid, Ph.D, of Bethel AME Church in Baltimore, brought a message about greatness and how people should be proud of what they have, because it was given by God for a reason. His sermon dealt with "making champions."
