"I really went to UPS for the part-time job because of the wages and benefits," she said. "A part-time job just turned into a gratifying career."

"Opportunity, fate and circumstances kept me there, but I think, more importantly, the sharing of the same common beliefs and values that the company have," she said. "Those of integrity, hard work, and doing the right things for the right reasons."

With UPS Foundation being one of the largest contributors to the United Way, [Epps] was asked to deliver the keynote address for the United Way Women's Leadership Initiative Breakfast September 15. In her keynote speech, Epps discussed the need for women to step up as leaders not only in the home and the workplace, but also within communities and the world. She encouraged the women in attendance to become active in their neighborhoods, engage in political debate and to challenge the traditional ideals of authority.
