Summary


The opening composition, "Dolphin Dance," was "severely rearranged," Breaker told the crowd.

[Michael Brecker], who is also a seven-time Grammy winner, grew up listening to the music of John Coltrane, Miles Davis and other greats. He is the only musician to have won back-to-back Grammy's for "Best Jazz Instrumental Performance" and "Best Jazz Solo" two years in a row.

This evening he gave this audience a demonstration of the Electronic Wind Instrument or EWI (pronounced e-wee). With the help of computer programming from [Herbie Hancock], Brecker took us on a sound excursion from nature sounds to funk grooves leading to the [Wayne Shorter] composition "Pinocchio."
