[Turner] continues, "When I met with Mac Howison of the Sprout Fund Seed Award program I explained to him that too much of what I'm seeing in the local hip-hop scene is looking too much the same. And I know that doesn't represent the truth about the talent here in Pittsburgh. I've toured around the country and rarely came across a scene with the type of talent pool that Pittsburgh has. However, everyone isn't represented in the popular media and performance outlets. Originally, the hip-hop scene was characterized by a number of groups with their own sound. Now, everyone you get a chance to hear is trying to sound the same as someone they saw on TV in hope of 'getting on.'"
