Pittsburgh Native Returns Home Head of Renowned Band

Manhattan Burn Unit will perform at Crawford Grill on the Square on March 11-12 for two shows nightly, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. [John Hicks], the prolific pianist recently recorded a tribute to Earl "Fatha" Hines entitled "Fatha's Day" on the High Note record label. The tenor saxophonist, Abraham Burton, is one of the new stars on the horizon. He is a former student of jazz giant Jackie McLean, as well as the former tenor man for the late great drummer, Arthur Taylor. This very talented young man has a number of solo recordings on the Steeple Chase label.
