"The CD is a taste of my world as an artist," explained [Ryan Leslie], adding, "I've been writing and producing for everyone else and I started cutting records for myself. I kept the songs that were very special to me and the whole album is written, produced, performed and arranged by me."

After his graduation from Harvard in 1998, Leslie, who was born in Washington, D.C., began to pursue his passion for music full-time. He had a hand in Loon's hit single "Down For Me," the multi-platinum "Bad Boys II" soundtrack and the lead single from New Edition's current album, "Hot 2Nite.'

"Revitalizing the Apollo will raise the value of the community and will bring jobs to the area," he says. "I'm committed to community development and we'll do one community at a time. I feel that financial education lacks in regular education and that's something that affects all of our youth, not just minorities. I try to instill that in people because it empowers our youths."
