Summary


Ten of those 79 men were honored in February during "A Gathering of Eagles" program to kick off Black History Month. On the previous evening, Feb. 1, the airmen, their families and the Spirit of 99 researchers were feted at the University of Pittsburgh for the world premiere of "Flyboy: The Tuskegee Airmen of Western Pennsylvania," which was later broadcast by WQED Multimedia, producers of the presentation.

GETTING READY TO FLY-Staff Sgt. Kristin McGeorge, representing Major Bingham of the 911 Tactical Air Group of the Air Force Reserve, attended the initial meeting of the Organizing Committee to establish a Pittsburgh chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. With her are Dr. Edmond Effort, co-chair of the committee and Tuskegee Airman George A. Bivins.
